Indirect personal investigations method is used when the investigators are reluctant to provide informations directly.
In this method the investigators appoints the local agents in different part of the investigation and they collect information and pass it to the investigators time to time.
Merits :
-It is suitable when the area of investigation is large.
-Large amount of data can be collected with less efforts.
-Investigators can get better informations in certain cases such as drinking, smoking, gambling, etc.
Demerits :
-The information may biased as it is provided by the third party.
-Data is not reliable because the information is not collected directly.
-The data so collected may not be uniform in character.
