ACDSEE PHOTO MANAGER 12

FOR : Improved user interface, integrated FTP client, speedy.
AGAINST : None

If your memory cards are overflowing and you don't know how to go about managing thousands of photos on your hard drive, then it's time to use a photo managing tool such as ACDSee Photo Manager 12. What is evident instantly is the new interface of the image database. It is a big move from the previous version, with a variety of new features. The instroduction of four modules(Manage, View, Edit and Online) is similar to those in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, which isn't a coincidence.
İn addition to look and feel, even the performance is quite convincing; it took just 45 minutes to import around 6.500 images into the database, which is aster than many other programes of its class. However, such a complete cataloguing is necessary only after the firt installation. After that, user has to feed images into the catalog gradually as and when they shot or scanned. Images can be impoerted from a memory card, scanner, hard disk, optical drive or any other storage medium. Photo Manager 12 even manages images on CDs and DVDs without the dist being present in the drive, but you will have to import them into the catalog first. The user can then add notes or other metadata.
The user can now use optical markers to identify pictures. When organizing photos, the program supports the IPTC standard for metadata, but only when editing individual pictures. Unfortunately, it doesn't work in combination with stack processing. On purchasing Photo Manager 12, you ger a free ACDSeeonline.con account with 2 gb of storage. Photo Manager manages web space and transfers photos even to Facebook, if required. For those who have their own website or file server, it also has an integrated FTP client.
