Computers perform arithmetic and logical operations.
Computers distunguished by the way received and process data.
1)Analog Computers
2)Digital Computers
3)Hybrid Computers
1)Analog Computers :
Analog computers process data in a continuous form. Data such as voltage resistance, temperature and pressure all represented in the computer as a continuous flow of information.
For example; in chemical research computers called sensors are used to measure the boiling point of certain liquid and switch of the heater automaticly.
2)Digital Computers :
Digital computers accept numeric values and convert them into electric pulses(0,1) and perform arithmetic operations. This computers are suitable for business data processing where large amount of data are to be process.
This computers produce very accurate results and are highly expensive and difficult to program.
3)Hybrid Computers :
A computer that combines both analog and digital features.
These are used in missile systems, aircraft design, etc.
These computers receives analog signals and converts them into digital form and wise versa.
